Our team lives in Asia and Oceania. We walk through our communities, just like you do, and we see so many people without a place to know where to receive this living water.
You may assume that bringing water to over half of the world's population would require significant logistical challenges. But Wellspring believes the work is both simple and profound.
Wellspring gathers people around a single reality: Christians are springs from which the living water of Jesus flows out. As these communities go, grow, gather, and live together, they bring life not only to those within them, but to the world around them — transforming the landscape through the gospel.
While the idea is simple, the work itself is not easy. Distractions, opposition, and brokenness all work against the spread of this living water. Wellspring exists so that you — a spring through whom the living water of Jesus flows — have the support, encouragement, and accountability needed to bring this life-giving water to the community around you.
People who will walk with you
Wellspring is led by three brothers who have planted, taught, and walked the road themselves. Across Manila, Brisbane, and beyond, they coordinate the program, train coaches, and shepherd the community of Planters scattered across Asia and Oceania.
Justin Steinke
Wellspring Coordinator
A graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary who has served in ministry in New York City and Wuhan, China. Justin now lives in Metro Manila with his wife and their two children, with a long-standing passion for reaching the lost in urban contexts.
Dr. Matthew Doebler
Coaching Director
For over 28 years, Matt has served as a parish pastor, a church planter, a seminary professor, a mentor, and a cross-cultural missionary in the United States, Hong Kong, East Asia, Thailand, and Australia. He is passionate about mission, mentoring, and our Christ-centered identity.
Peter Janke
Community Director
Peter is a missionary and teacher with over ten years of experience in international mission work. He has lived and worked in Wuhan, Shenyang, and Chiang Mai, and now lives in Brisbane with his wife and two kids.
